Ulster Folk Museum, Cultra, 29th-31st October 2022
The team from Epidemic Belfast joined the Hallowe’en experience weekend at the Ulster Folk Museum where visitors could step back in time and experience a traditional ‘Samhain’ (pronounced sow-an). In the town of Ballycultra where traditions and stories are relived and recounted, Epidemic Belfast based themselves in the Labourer’s House on Tea Lane, the Picture House, and the Dispensary. In amongst carving turnips, listening to the Armagh Rhymers and the Bangor Abbey Players, tasting traditional Hallowe’en fayre, visitors could learn about the gory history of medicine in Northern Ireland with us.

Féile An Phobail, Belfast, 8th August 2022
As part of Féile An Phobail in August 2022, I was invited, alongside Dr Ian Miller to discuss a countdown of the ten most gruesome, surprising and shocking findings discovered while researching the Epidemic Belfast podcast, at St Mary’s University College, Belfast.
ESRC Festival of Social Science (2021)

As part of the Festival of Social Science in October 2021, I co-organised an interactive public medical history event at the Sunflower Public House in Belfast, alongside Eugenie Scott and Dr Ian Miller. This included a countdown of the ten most gruesome, surprising and shocking findings discovered while researching the Epidemic Belfast podcast, and was followed by a quiz and short walking tour.
